I started Avon in 2002 with 2 kids and a boyfriend and earned £7000 in my 1st year (5 hours a week) In 2011 I had 3 kids and a husband and earned £150,000.00 for an average 30 hours a week doing the same thing!
Why I started Avon in 2002 was because I moved towns. I was working part time 10 – 2pm Monday to Thursday but I didn’t have any friends. So I took some action & I found an ad in the local paper that said ‘Join Avon, Meet new people’ and within 48 hrs I was an Avon lady! I had never sold a thing in my life up until that day and I was very nervous but very excited too. I simply wanted to meet some women my own age that had similar interests and I thought Avon was going to be a great Icebreaker if nothing else! So, I got myself a few books and order forms ready and set off to school to pick up Libby (aged 5 at the time). I was mobbed! As soon as I walked into the school gates the Mum’s were overjoyed at the sight of my plastic Avon carrier bag. “OMG Do you do Avon” one lady shrieked (she had never spoke to me before this moment) “Yes, I just started today, would you like a brochure?”
When I left St Leonards to move back to Weymouth in 2006 I had built a Team of over 1000 Avon ladies (and a few good men) and both my husband and I were working full time within our Avon Empire! I had over 250 loyal customers that I had built up over the 5 years through simple ‘Word Of Mouth’ and my Golden Rules to Finding, serving and Keeping Customers.
And that is my story of ‘How and why I started Avon’

In 2010 we took our 3 kids to Swim with Dolphins
In 2011 we moved into our Dream home worth almost £1 Million pound
In 2011 as a Team we sold over £6 Million pounds worth of Avon
In September 2011 I wrote a book about my Success within the Network Marketing Industry and MLM to share with other women in the same shoes as me.
The book Mum’s the Word is accompanied by my new web site www.mymumsays.co and has been something I have wanted to do since 2008 when our team won the very Prestigious Award ‘Team of the Year’. I wrote this book to ‘Give Back’ to those women within Network Marketing that may be in the position I was once in, and may feel lonely, worried about their financial state and want to build their own business but don’t think they have the first skill to do so. In my book I talk about how any woman can do what I do; Whether you have kids, sales skills a business background or not, YOU can do what I have done. There are no secrets to my success, just pure determination, a belief in the product and opportunity you have to offer and a willingness to learn.
